Makeup Trends That Are Revolutionizing the Beauty Industry with Precision Stenciling

The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and one of the most exciting developments in recent years has been the rise of precision stenciling. This innovative technique is changing the game, offering makeup enthusiasts and professionals alike new ways to create stunning, intricate looks with ease.

The Rise of Stencil Artistry in Makeup

Stencil artistry has long been a staple in the world of painting and street art, but its application in makeup is relatively new. Precision stenciling allows for the creation of detailed designs that would be nearly impossible to achieve by hand. It’s a trend that’s gaining momentum, as it empowers individuals to experiment with bold, artistic expressions on a canvas that’s as personal as it gets—their own face.

Why Precision Stenciling is a Game-Changer

Precision stenciling offers several advantages that make it a standout trend in the beauty industry:

  • Consistency: Stencils ensure that designs are uniform and symmetrical, which is essential for a polished look.
  • Time-Saving: Applying complex patterns can be time-consuming, but stencils make it quick and easy.
  • Accessibility: Even those who may not have a steady hand or extensive makeup experience can create professional-looking designs.
  • Versatility: Stencils can be used with a variety of makeup products, from eyeshadow to lipstick, and everything in between.

Incorporating Stencils into Everyday Beauty Routines

While precision stenciling might seem best suited for special occasions, it’s also making its way into daily beauty routines. Here’s how:

  1. Eyebrow Shaping: Use stencils to achieve the perfect brow shape every time.
  2. Eyeliner Accents: Add flair to your winged liner with stenciled patterns along the edges.
  3. Lip Art: Create ombre lips or add detailed accents to your pout for a pop of color.
  4. Body Art: Extend your creativity beyond your face with stencils designed for body makeup.

The Future of Precision Stenciling

As the demand for personalized and unique makeup looks continues to grow, so too will the role of precision stenciling. It’s a trend that encourages creativity and individuality, and we can expect to see even more innovative stencil designs and applications in the future.

Conclusion

Precision stenciling is more than just a passing fad; it’s a revolutionary trend that’s here to stay. With its ability to transform makeup application into an art form, it’s no wonder that it’s quickly becoming a staple in the beauty industry. Whether you’re a seasoned makeup artist or just starting to explore the world of cosmetics, precision stenciling is a trend worth embracing.

Meet Artist Ingrid Mathurin

I had the privilege of meeting Ingrid last year through my partner and us bonding on art. The best way tot describe Ingrid is as a ray of light, a very chill one. She’s a talented artist, doing both makeup and fine art and street murals. Ingrid painted most of the models you see on Stencil1FX and even modeled herself! Here’s more about this wonderful woman:

How long have you been painting faces?

I have been a makeup artist for 13 years.

You are also an amazing painter. Which came first, fine art painting or makeup?

Painting came first and I’ve been painting for 20 years.

You know glam, you know edgy, and even do art performance looks, what’s your favorite? Why?

My favorite look is beauty.  It’s timeless and can go with any fashion style.

What will we see from you in 2020?

In 2020 you’ll see more makeup tutorials and I’m also a muralist and I’m planning on painting a couple more murals.

What projects are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on a project in Atlanta called A Journey of a Black Girl and I’m also working on a blog that shows vegan, paraben and non toxic makeup products and how to apply those products.

Where can people see all that you do?

People can view all my work on my website at www.yuzly.com and also on my Instagram accounts.  I have one for art and also makeup:

Q&A with Julian Woodhouse

Stencil1FX Bolt Stencil

I had the pleasure of working with the talented Julian Woodhouse for our launch of Stencil1FX. Here’s my Q&A with Julian:

Lets start with …How long have you modeled and how did you start?

I started modeling in 2016. I was living in Seoul at the time and was discovered at Seoul Fashion Week.

You have an amazing clothing line, how would you describe your aesthetic? How did you move from modeling to designing? I think you can inspire people who are just starting their own ventures so please tell about this leap or transition.

My aesthetic is all about transformation. I like to incorporate zippers, snaps, and other hardware to allow the wearer to wear the garments in a number of ways. – I started modeling and designing at the same time actually. By designing clothing for myself and wearing them to events, I was taken seriously as a model. – I believe designing starts with the individual’s desire for what they wish they could see in the world. Regardless of if someone is keen on designing for themselves, like myself, or for others, the best way to start designing is to discover one’s personal connection to aesthetics manifested on the human form. I started designing with a sketch book and a patient dressmaker, Mr. Sol, I met in Dongducheon, a Korean village about 20 miles south of North Korea. I saved up $100 and begged him to give me a good price for a simple design. I wore the garment to fashion week and was photographed by around 50 different photographers. When I showed Mr. Sol the photos, he fell in love with seeing his work highlighted in such a great way. That initial spark is what later launched the brand. – My advice is to always follow your gut and never say no to an opportunity you know is good for you. Always be kind and grateful to those who are willing to help you because you never know what can happen.

Bigger question, What is the future of fashion?

The future of fashion looks like an industry managed by influencers not publishers and certainly not the fashion elite. The fashion brand, hopefully mine :), that enables influencers to own their own brands will ultimately win. Eventually, those that leverage technology innovation enabling people to create their own garments sustainably, will become the next fashion moguls (again…hopefully me haha).

What is your design philosophy? Life philosophy? Favorite idols? Oprah? Deepak? others?

My design philosophy revolves around seeing myself as an action figure. Clothes in my life are extensions of my personality and my spirit. I typically only wear my own garments because no brand offers me the flexibility that I have as a designer. The inside of my visual mind is similar to a kaleidoscope (thanks to ADHD). If I couldn’t design my own wardrobe to match the eternal corners of my spotless mind, I would feel like a cat with tape on my fur, awkward, and uncomfortable haha. – My current idol is Elon Musk. I feel a commonality with his mindset and his dedication to bringing his talents to the world in the form of positive change empowered by innovation. – Children are my inspiration, especially kids with ADD/ ADHD. Our supernatural minds are tough to squeeze into society– as it is similar to trying to fit the solar system into a glass of water.

How does spirituality fit into your success? How does fitness figure in to your success?

Spirituality for me is a must because as an adult with my type of brain, I need to pull inspiration and understanding from an unlimited source. I can only scroll and swipe so many times before I reach the end of a particular feed, but when I close my eyes and sit still the entire universe opens for me. Spirituality is what keeps me happy and helps me see that I am made perfectly just the way I am. In my opinion, spirituality is extremely important in this era because with so much information and data flying around us, a lack of self awareness can lead to identity issues and wasted time. – Fitness is what keeps me in check. First, I grew up in a military household. Secondly, I commissioned into the military at the age of 22. When I left the active duty, I struggled to find my footing because having so much energy in a world where I am not forced to do a particular set of tasks left me unable to complete anything. Starting each day with exercise keeps my mind sharp and allows me to always feel my best.

How has been being on a reality show changed your life?

It showed me that there are so many people that I can touch and inspire with the freedom of my creative expression. I am so grateful to Netflix for having me and allowing me to express myself. Instead of selfishly sending visuals into the social sphere, I feel a sense of responsibility to remaining authentic to my mission in life of being a light in the world.

I love how you highlighted Brooklyn when on the show. I am grateful for meeting you in our neighborhood, so many creatives dwell and create here. What is it about Brooklyn that helps you create?

Brooklyn is the heartland of collaborative artistry in the USA. Given the amount of projects that are always happening here, one can never run out of inspiration. From street characters to street art, Brooklyn is bursting with creativity.

What are you currently working on? What will we see from you in 2020?

I am currently working on building the backend of my first invention, a device that automates garment manufacturing by 80%. – I am launching a social media platform that will later be coupled with my invention that will connect and equalize the world of fashion.

Where can people see all of your work?
